The Nisarga Foundation are an established non-profit organisation whose unique proposition is the support and protection of the forest dwelling 'Adivasi Tribe' with specific regard to the nutritional growth and development of tribal children and support for pregnant and new-born mothers.
Their aim is to ensure positive socio-economic, cultural and political empowerment in the indigenous areas, while protecting the environment and nurturing its biodiversity.
Many of their projects are also focused on child rights and protection, including supporting access to the Childline system for families and young children, facilitating rehabilitation of children into local communities, promoting child rights amongst the community via awareness campaigns and the implementation of administrative schemes supporting research and documentation related to children in need of care and protection.
They are based in the Mysore region of Karnataka and are already a positive and well respected group. CDV Global have been working alongside Nisarga for several months implementing a three stage "Training Needs Analysis", helping them identify the specific areas within their organisation they feel they could improve through specific training from an experienced volunteer.
Nisarga and CDV Global currently have two training opportunities available for the right volunteers. Training basic Project Management skills and training Social Work and Communications skills. For more information about how you can support this amazing organisation, please click the links.
