Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights

Organizational Overview

Society Development Centre (SODEC) are a social welfare NGO based in Eastern Nepal. They are committed to the socio-economic empowerment of the poor and excluded communities of the region, many of which were badly affected by the April 2015 earthquake which killed nearly 9000 people, devastating already deprived areas.

They have a multifaceted focus taking in areas like infrastructure, sanitation, education and social empowerment in the region. But health and welfare is key to their work if the local communities are to realise their sustainable economic potential and as such is the focus of this training opportunity.

Training Programme Outline

Why do they need this training?

SODEC are looking for a professional to support their knowledge and understanding of the field of Sexual & Reproductive Health Rights; its background, policies and practices.

They already do much needed work in this field, but are keen to understand the concept of SRHR internationally to implement a future programme of best practice into a culturally reserved region

Who would fit this role?

The volunteer would ideally work in the medical or social sector (doctor, nurse, midwife, family planning services...) and have significant experience in women's rights, reproductive rights, contraception and other fields within SRHR.

This opportunity is open to pairs & couples

SODEC people are happy to accommodate two people and are open to two volunteers delivering the training.

Drop us a line.
